CONSTITUTION OF THE PARENT – TEACHER FORUM PREAMBLE

Whereas we Parents, Guardians and Teachers of Saint Anthony’s Grammar School (Private) Esure, Ijebu-Imusin (Catholic School) have identified the need to constitute ourselves into an improved functional body for the advancement of knowledge and behaviour of our students’ progress and to give the adequate support to the school authority. We hereby assemble and give ourselves the following rules and regulations to guide, protect and provide for the needs and progress of our children.

OBJECTIVES:

The main intension of the forum is;

  • To provide a healthy interaction, understanding and mutual relationship between the parents/guardians and teaching staff.
  • To assist materially, financially, morally and otherwise, in providing the school with additional requirement, that will enable it carry along its member {as stake holders}
  • To constantly strive that the school maintains the highest standard towards achieving academic and social excellence.
  • To be a mandatory first line of recourse for any aggrieved guardians in resolving any dispute(s) between parents and the School Management, the School Management/parents/ teachers.

EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

It shall be the highest decision making body. The executive council membership shall be:

  • 1. The chairman
  • 2. Vice The chairman
  • 3. The Principal
  • 4. General Secretary
  • 5. Assistant Secretary
  • 6. The Financial Secretary
  • 7. The Treasure
  • 8. The Publicity / Social Secretary
  • 9. The vice principal / Representative
  • 10. Ex-Officio Members (3 elected members)

MEETINGS

  • The last meeting of the School session shall be the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
  • The General Meeting of the forum shall be held at least once every term (preferably mid-term).
  • Without prejudice to the above, an emergency meeting may be summoned when necessary.
  • Executive meetings shall be as the need arises, but shall hold before the General Meeting.
  • Venue for both General and Executive Meeting shall be in the School premises.
  • Quorum at meeting: 2/3 of the parents and all full time teachers.

CODE OF CONDUCT

  • i. Members must be punctual and regular at all meetings of the forum
  • ii. Members of the forum must at all times conduct themselves properly with dignity and integrity particularly during the meeting and must show respect for the constituted authorities of the Forum.
  • iii. Members must participate fully in all activities of the Forum.
  • iv. All reports particularly from the members of the Executive Committee or from any other member/ group of members so authorized must be written and submitted on schedule
  • v. Fund disbursed to any officer(s) and member(s) of the Forum must be satisfactorily accounted for and retired promptly.

The P.T.A meetings are held termly in the school premises during which parents/guardians air their views on issues relating to the School that are of concern to them. This is in tandem with our belief that for us to achieve most of our goals and fulfill certain needs of our students, there is an apt need to form a strong partnership with our parents and guardians.
